Cosco Shipping and DNV GL works on smart ship data development

Cosco Shipping and DNV GL have signed a cooperation agreement to support the development of the Chinese shipping firm’s digital transformation.
According to the agreement, DNV GL will provide consulting services to Cosco Shipping for its smart ship data centre construction.
To improve the performance and reduce the costs, Cosco Shipping and DNV GL will work on the promotion of smart ship and smart shipping, which is a major section of Cosco Shipping’s digital transformation progress.
“We are glad to establish cooperation with DNV GL, which has rich experiences in maritime digital transformation and related areas,” said an official from technology and information department of Cosco Shipping.
Last year, Cosco Shipping inked cooperation agreements with several industry players such as CCS, Jiangnan Shipyard, Wärtsilä, MAN, Kongsberg Maritime, to jointly develop it’s smart ship data standards project.
